Got the sweet breads at 9am on Sunday morning, I'm not a Spanish speaker but don't worry ! They are extremely friendly unlike the other place in Waltham, this small corner shop bake them fresh everyday ! I didn't see mountains of baked buns piled , only small batches were made when I got to the store. I wasn't expecting much but the bread is soft and moist, what a nice surprise! And who doesn't appreciate freshness ?

This place is insane, not only is everything freshly baked on a daily basis but I've never ran into bread and baked goods so cheap in my life. Pan dulce for only 75 cents. I think everything under the counter table is under a dollar and apparently they have hot dishes? Currently on a streak with the place to try one of everything they have. The ambiance is pretty homie too, and the staff are really kind as well. They have shelves lined with snacks and a wall full of drinks. The place is warmly lit and very welcoming. Easily one of my favorite spots in Waltham, super convenient, super friendly, and incredibly cheap.

Really delicious small bakery and small goods store in waltham. Focuses on Guatemalan Imports and they also make their own food, including tamales.

This review is during covid. Do you want freshly baked bread AND to support a local biz? This is it. There's a few panaderias in Waltham but this one is my favorite mostly because they sell other food items other than bread. The owner speaks English and I think their daughter? Does too which is helpful. They usually have hot food during the day but bc of covid, they don't have a wide array anymore. Hey but they still have their amazing tamales!!!!!!! I sadly never got a photo of any of their food because I devoured them too quickly.

Having come from California I was used to being able to go to my local Panaderia to pick up some delicious sweet breads for my coffee every weekend. But alas in Boston it's been more difficult to find a really good Panaderia. After a mini tour of different bakeries around the Boston area I found this tiny little gem. What I love about the sweet breads here is that it's that perfect balance of not too sweet, airy but dense as well. It's the perfect balance to have with your morning coffee or to dip into some mexican hot chocolate. They also have some of the more nuanced sweet breads that I hadn't even been able to find in California Panaderias that are delicious. I can never leave this place without having literally walking out with a bag full of each bread flavor. If you like Mexican sweet breads, and you've been looking for one here in the Boston area, this is the Guatemalan version and it is delicious!! I also love that this is run by a family and there is a sweet, tiny grandmother matriarch who works the counter. I have yet to try their tamales or some of their hot plates but if their bread is any indication of how good it will be I'm sure they're going to be delightful as well.

I stayed in an Airbnb near this place and went here for breakfast and groceries several times. The pan dulce and other baked items were always delicious, especially the quesadillas (more like a muffin than the thing with tortillas, although still made with cheese). I also picked up their tamales, which were excellent, as well as some lovely pupusas. I was visiting this place during the COVID crisis, and was really grateful that the workers in the shop were following social distancing procedures, were washing their hands a lot, and were vary careful to use gloves when bagging up the baked goods and other items. I speak a little (very bad) Spanish, and I appreciated their tolerating my poor grammar and vocabulary and then switching to fluent English when I was out of my depth. One small nitpick, and the reason this is only a four-star review: the coffee is not great. If you live or are staying near this place, I would definitely recommend stopping by.
